This research explores the situation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine as of May 2023, focusing on housing shortages, unemployment, and property loss. Drawing on IOM assessments, government regulations, and CSO reports, it highlights barriers to integration such as safety concerns, limited livelihood opportunities, and restricted participation in public life. Particular attention is given to legal challenges in restoring property rights and documents, especially for those relying on paper records. The article underscores the role of CSOs and local authorities in facilitating integration, addressing gender disparities in rural areas, and reducing tensions with host communities over limited social resources.
